Assistant Manager Job Description

  Supervising associates along with the Store Manager to maintain the everyday workings, productivity and efficiency of the store.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Uphold an expectation of excellent customer service at all times while insuring that each associate is productive and busy when not assisting customers.
• Work closely with the Store Manager in determining important goals and projects for the store, themselves, and the sales associates and how they can be achieved. 
• Opening and/or closing duties for the store.  
• Requiring efficient and accurate record of all merchandise coming in and going out of store location.
• Conducting inventories, locating/reporting shortages.
• Attend regular training sessions with associates to maintain the high Teacher Heaven standards

Knowledge and Skill Requirements:

• Supervisory skills to appropriately assign tasks and provide thorough follow through.
• Exhibit appropriate interpersonal relationship skills in order to work effectively with co-workers and customers
• Ability to adapt to developing circumstances as this is an ever-changing workplace
• Continue development of their knowledge of products, policies, and procedures of our company

Depending on qualifications of applicant, we may choose to hire into a training position (at a training pay rate) until full management responsibilities are undertaken.

Requirements
Retail Management Experience is requested for management positions

Saturdays are required, but we try to be flexible when requested in advance.
Applicant should be comfortable working with computers.

 Physical Demands:

• Being on your feet all day
• Occasional lifting of heavy boxes/merchandise up to 40 lbs and unloading trucks and shipments

Working Conditions/Environment:

• There are days when managers will be required to work 12+ hours/day or Sunday hours (we are open 3 Sundays during August) 
• Salaried managers are required to work 40+ hours a week and one long day. (9:30-7:00)
